Our Ref. Tech.Dept. FOH/AD. Your Ref. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3-11/MH.{M. Huckerby} S.H. Grylls, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Limited, D E R B Y. 2nd February, 1939. My dear Grylls, With reference to your letter of the 23rd ultimo regarding the Duplex Bearing, I had hoped to find an opportunity of bringing the Duplex Bearing over for your examination, but as some time has now elapsed and I have not been able to do so, I am sending this under separate cover, from which you will note the evidence as mentioned in my previous letter. Referring to the rollers and cage, we don't appear to have anything whatever coming near your requirements, and as our people are somewhat "sticky" these days the making up of only one specially might be somewhat lengthy. Regarding the use of this type of job for your gearbox assembly, it is not a scheme with which I am normally very enthusiastic, and if possible I would like to have a look at a sketch of the surrounding parts with a view to offering you something more suitable if feasible and perhaps you could let me have this for consideration. Kindest regards, Yours sincerely, F.{Mr Friese} O.{Mr Oldham} Hickling u.s.c. Duplex brg. | ||
