BEARING STEERING GEAR - RE: SPHERICAL BALL AT TOP OF THE FIXED COLUMN OF THE STEERING UNIT. I am sending you herewith three blueprints Nos. 3973, 5761 and 6498, the latter one is the only one carrying a date viz. August 27th 1906, 5761 was fitted to cars produced in 1905. Both of these were a ball bearing type of spherical joint. 3973 was produced for the two-cylinder car in 1904, which shows a spherical joint on bronze faces, that is without balls. The cars to which these were fitted were erected in 1904, and sold to the public during that and the following year. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
