has always been 2 or 3 big ends which have failed, and the other bearings have almost invariably been in excellent condition, in fact quite unaffected. In at least two of the failures only the big end which failed showed any signs of distress. There was one instance where we had every bearing showing signs of distress in a similar manner to this particular case, and I insisted that it was the driver's fault as he had insufficient oil in his sump, and I am certain that this is a similar case.
