Aviation Fuel Gentlemen, With reference to circular letter 34029/30/C.4.a/H.C.V. dated 2nd June 1930, I am directed to inform you that two new specifications for Standard Fuel for Aircraft Engines have been prepared and issued. They are D.T.D. No.224 and D.T.D.230 and the purpose for which they are to be used as from the date of this letter are detailed hereunder:- D.T.D. 224 - 77 Octane Standard Fuel. This fuel does not admit the use of tetra-ethyl-lead. (a) All Production Tests of engines constructed under Air Ministry contracts unless otherwise specificied. (b) All Contractor's Flight Trials except those referred to under D.T.D.230 below. (c) All Aircraft Delivery Flights except those referred to under D.T.D. 230 below. Existing stocks of fuel complying with Specification D.T.D.134 may be utilised for the three purposes detailed above but no further stocks of such fuel should be created. contd: | ||
