The above car was inspected very carefully as follows upon receiving complaint of poor petrol consumption from the owner.

Ignition Wiring checked O.K.

Tappet clearances checked O.K.

Carburettor jets and plugs checked O.K.

Consumption tests were carried out as follows;-

Speedometer mileage recording checked O.K.

Constant speed of 60 mph. gives 15 mpg.

The carburettor cannot be set any weaker without affecting performance.
