3 To Mr [redacted] patt. shop. c. to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. [redacted] Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH.1/SW.28.11.40. This is to confirm that we handed this morning to Mr. Bradley, a blueprint of QFL.162, which shows No. 1 service tool-box for the 40 m/m Naval Gun. This tool-box contains all the necessary equipment which has to be kept in the proximity of the gun. With reference to the rubber section which is used between the edge of the lid{A. J. Lidsey} and the main box for water-proofing purposes, and also the necessary clasps for closing the box, we are making enquiries to provide something suitable. As soon as this is available, we will let you have particulars, in the meantime the main box construction can be proceeded with. We are following up with another tool-box for the remainder of the equipment which it is not essential to keep near the gun. We have asked HFS/LB. to let us have the spanners etc., to enable us to approach Sanderson & Holmes for a suitable leather roll to be made. When this is to hand, we shall be able to proceed with the box. ----------------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. | ||
