GUN 3 27th November, 1940. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG.S/ET. H.G. MILES, Esq., Empire Rubber Company, DUNSTABLE, Beds. Dear Mr. Miles, We have designed a tool box which requires a rubber seal similar to the enclosed section. You will notice that this is a tubular section with sponge rubber filling, and I am wondering whether you have anything similar in stock, as I understand that quick delivery will be required and that about 1000 yards will be wanted. A sample box has to be made, which will require about 2 yards. If you have a suitable section, probably you can post me 2 yards along. After the sample has been approved, the remainder will probably be made by some other firm, but we wish to specify where the materials can be obtained. While a section having the sponge rubber filling is preferable, I understand that it is not absolutely essential so that, if you have not anything similar to the sample, you may have a good quality draft tubing, without filling. It is to be used between the lid{A. J. Lidsey} and the box, and to be grooved in to form a seal to prevent water entering. As I understand the matter is urgent, I should be obliged if you could let me know if you can supply what is required, and what delivery you could give for the bulk order. Yours sincerely, | ||
