ORIGINAL. 26 Hotel de l'Ouest Laval Mayenne Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} 7.G.II June 4th 1922 X4086 We prepared 79II for the use of [crossed out: X3602 X4345] C.J. and I took it up to Paris on Wednesday last arriving there about 10-o'clock P.M. The car was stored outside Paris in accordance with C.J's wishes. The next day I took out a set of Dunlop tyres and fitted them so that the car will start its amateur test with new tyres all round. {Marginalia: Roy{Sir Henry Royce} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}} The Belgravian tyres are a hopeless failure and were not fit to remain on the car. They are now at the Paris depot and I have asked them to keep them there for reference. They are badly worn and the tyres which were used on the back wheels are worn out. The mileages and position of the tyres were as follows. Condition Tyre No. 120621 Front Wheel Mileage 1563. 50% worn " " 120665 " " " 1563 " " " 120620 Rear " 1251 {Tread gone fabric shown} " " 120647 " " " 1563 {Worn out} " " 120645 " " " 312 perceptible wear on studs | ||
