ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

VOLTAGE CONTROLLED DYNAMO.

The output from the dynamo has been satisfactory. There has been no trouble of any kind. The brush gear and commutator are in a good condition.

STARTER MOTOR.

No trouble has been experienced with the starter motor. Engagement upon first pressing the button and a good standard for quietness in operation.

DISTRIBUTOR AND CONTACTS.

The contacts show little sign of burning or wear. The gap has remained consistent. The distributor shows no sign of any tracking.

COIL IGNITION FITTED WITH PHILCO SUPPRESSORS.

We have had only one failure due to the fitting of the suppressors. This occurred on N°3. The condensor cutting out the high tension current, with only a faint spark was obtained at the plug points. The plug fired immediately the condensor was taken off.

IGNITION PLUGS. KLG. 806.

With the exception of the above misfire, no trouble has been experienced with the plugs. There is slight burning of the points.

MAGNETO IGNITION.

The magneto caused misfires through a faulty contact, and eventually ceased to produce a spark. The cause was due to the wearing of the material of the bearing bush for the contact arm, which elongated to the extent that the contact would not break the circuit. A spare contact arm was fitted which has not reproduced the trouble.

BATTERY.

The suspension of the battery does not show any weakness and has remained intact. The battery has not given any indication of deterioration. The supply for all purposes has been adequate.

NEW HEAD LAMPS OF MODIFIED TYPE. LOP. D.74093.

The head lamps have not been a success. We were unfortunate in the first place by an owl hitting the NS.{Norman Scott} lamp, breaking the glass and destroying all the interior. This placed the lamp entirely out of action, leaving one lamp in use. The troubles with the OS. lamp have been :
