FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. E.W.HIVES. Dear Sirs, We beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of April 29th, and regret to hear that you have had several complaints about short circuiting of the C9 plugs, and we note that you favour the pot type of insulator. But we know of no material of this class that we could offer you with confidence for use on your engines. We have considerable experimental work proceeding on the subject of pot insulators, and as soon as we have anything that we can offer you with confidence, we will let you know. But we submit that the complaints about short circuiting may be very largely due to the use of inferior petrol, as we hear numerous complaints about porcelain plugs being short circuited through soot. The writer is bearing your request in mind, and we hope to send you shortly some plugs with our new pot insulators, but these are only on an experimental basis at present. Yours faithfully, LODGE PLUGS LIMITED. | ||
