R.R.A.160-1 16M-2-1-23 46625 ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. PROPOSED STANDARDIZATION OF CHASSIS PARTS No. 54 To Mr. Belnap The following is proposed: PIECE NOS. AFFECTED: E-18381 SECTION NO.: 5190 NAME OF PARTS: Water Connection (Radiator to Pump) DESCRIPTION of Alteration: To break this pipe near pump as shown on print A-5207 and use E-18196 (bottom radiator connection) again on inlet of water pump. To omit clip E-19476 on wheelcase. It is proposed later to combine E-18196 with the pump inlet casting. PURPOSE of Alteration: It is found that long suction pipe attached rigidly to pump has tendency to pull pump out of line and cause leaks. With modification proposed clip on wheelcase to support overhung pipe becomes unnecessary. Alteration No. 4559/A Date February 22, 1924.
