To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X312 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}16/KW.4.5.36. Flywheel Balance on the Phantom III. We can confirm Taub's experience that in most cases we can get a smoother engine by finally balancing the flywheel on the Ph.III. Previously we have blamed the shop for insufficient care in balancing the parts before assembly, but Taub seems to confirm we cannot expect them to get the necessary result. This being so, we think some provision should be made for adding balance weights to the flywheel when the car has been completed, and the clutch pit should be made more accessible with this end in view. We should like to have copies of any Chevrolet drawings which you receive from General Motors. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
