Bailey - Chief Engineer} Y8792 Hsl/LG26.11.26. 7-EX CAR - FOR LE CANADELHenry Royce's French residence. X4600 We propose fitting a spare wheel carrier at the rear of this car and the modified luggage grid. In the time available, it will be impossible for us to get the pressings for the frame extensions. We therefore propose building this up with the welded plate. We are confident that we can make a good job of this way; most of the subframes which are fitted to the cars were made in this manner. When we have the wheel at the back, are we to cancel both of the side carriers, or do you wish to still retain the one on the near-side? We suggest that it would be useful experience to run the car with only one spare wheel and one spare inner tube. We could arrange that Dodd carried another spare tyre complete which would be kept in the garage for the car. We should like to know as early as possible what you would like us to do because there will be a certain amount of patching to be done on the running boards and booting, when we remove the side spare wheel carriers. We should also like to know the date on which you require 7-EX car to meet you at Toulon. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
