SIR HENRY SEGRAVE.

On Monday the 13th., January Sir Henry Segrave lunched with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} PN.{Mr Northey} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, at the Cafe Royal and the following points were discussed:-

PHANTOM 11.

PN.{Mr Northey} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, who had run 1-WJ car in the morning, agreed that Sir Henry Segrave's criticism that this car was poor at 'Jellying' was true. They considered the car sufficiently bad in this respect to return it to the Works for attention.

The criticism as regards the brakes on this car was also confirmed and this could also be attended to when the car is at the Works by fitting the modified leverages.

On the question of springing and shock absorbers, Sir Henry Segrave said that he prefferred the Excelsior Arfa shock absorbers in preference to the Hartford, and it was agreed that the Expl. Dept., should obtain particulars of these shock absorbers and if possible they should be fitted to Sir Henry Segrave's Phantom 11 car.

It was agreed that Sir Henry would take delivery of his Phantom 11 car in its standard condition. He would then run the car until he took delivery of the 25 HP. This was expected to be about fourteen days after the Phantom. The Phantom 11 would then be returned to Derby for us to carry out the necessary modifications.
