(3) Modified arrangement Bonnet & Dash.
Both chassis. Both expl. cars will be standard in this respect. It is understood that R.R.A.I. on the 200 order will have the benefit of any improvements in the bonnet mounting which has been previously standardised by R.R. Ltd.
The matter is under discussion. The present American method of attachment may be seen on 404 MR. This is the method which has now been used in America for several years and is known to be satisfactory. It might be called scheme 1.
A further suggestion, scheme 2, has been put forward, by which the bonnet rest is attached to the cowl instead of the dash. This is of the greatest convenience in making a nice fit with the scuttle and is standard practice on American cars, but is subject to some objection and requires experiment.
Drawings of both these schemes have been brought over. It is to be noted that either scheme lengthens the bonnet panels and may entail the purchase of larger sheets.

(4) Front Apron.
Both chassis. Will not be on expl. cars at assembly.
R.R.A.I. will have to fit front aprons on the 200 order. Public demand makes this necessary.
Since a standard apron is not at present contemplated, we should like to standardise suitable points of attachment on the chassis frame, so that our aprons will be inter-changeable.
We suggest that the present front number plate brackets, though not adaptable to carrying American number plates, will be useful in carrying the apron.
Schemes for the apron are in hand in America and drawing showing proposed points of attachment will be sent in due course.

(5) Step Irons.
Both chassis. Standard type to be fitted on expl. cars. Detail modifications desired for American coachwork are being drawn up in U.S. and will be forwarded in due course for discussion.

(6) Filling Rear Axle.
Both chassis. Expl. cars will have standard filler, 200 order will be improved in this respect only if standardised. Have already taken this up in writing. The axle casing will be filled with the car on an overhead ramp and filler plug should be accessible from below. Oil is forced in from a pressure pump and is often very cold, and a free overflow is essential to avoid overfilling. Present scheme on 404 MR has proved satisfactory.
