X.3188 - CLAUDEL CARBURETTERS

We have a pair of the latest Claudel Duplex (H.C.7) carburetters, we intend to test them at the first opportunity.

The mixture is controlled by vacuum. There is a balancing scheme for the float chamber but this is cut off as the mixture control is weakened. They have had to do this to get sufficient range on the mixture control. We have not been so keen on these carburetters since we heard they were giving trouble on Sunbeams but the reports of R.R.C.H. carburetters in service have been very satisfactory.

X.2202. We have heard that there is a new Zenith carburetter which is supposed to be very good, we have asked Capt. Briggs if he would try to send us one.

EH.
