THE ZENITH CARBURETTER CO. Limited. Sheet No. 2. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. 20.4.39. hard by means of the locknut. The result of this was to stretch the first two or three threads. We can assure you that before leaving these Works the idle control is tested, and we make definitely sure that the control screw will go right down on to its seat. The idle control should only be, at most, one or two turns off its seat, and we think that if adjusted in that way then you will have no trouble. 2. The second complaint relates to the rusting of springs, - one from under the leather piston and the other the by-pass valve spring. These springs are made either of tinned music wire or of spring steel cadmium-plated, and we do not see, therefore, why they should rust. We should be glad if you could let us have one or two samples. 3. Concerning the floats in the DC-42 carburetter, these are all checked on our test bench in order to see that the fork in the float arm does not foul the needle collar. We are not prepared to say that you have not found such foul, but we have called our Works' attention once again to the matter and this point will be watched very very closely. | ||
