Chassis No. 82-AL. Clifford Turner Esq.

We attach hereto copy of a letter we have received from Mr. Turner's chauffeur, together with a copy of our reply.

You will no doubt remember that the shock absorbers fitted to the rear of this car now have two .045" holes through each high pressure valve. Whilst this does undoubtedly provide a very soft suspension there is admittedly an increased tendency to roll.

Reducing the amount of leak through these valves will of course reduce the tendency to roll, but in carrying this out it is of the utmost importance that we do not get back to the condition in which dithers, due to the excessive action of the shock absorbers, become noticeable.

We suggest that when you get the car again you try the effect of blocking up one of the .045" diameter holes in the rear dampers, and that you let Mr. Turner have the car again with the shock absorbers in this condition, unless of course you definitely find that this does produce a tendency to dither, in which case we suggest that you try 3 .031" holes through both valves. This leak will be just midway between the present condition and that suggested above.
