Honed Cylinders for Phantom.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG22.9.27. EvG/LG22.9.27.

The engines fitted with honed cylinders and pistons having square section rings, have not been very satisfactory on test. The trouble of over oiling has been prevalent.

Lapping of the rings was tried, but this made the trouble worse.

It has been necessary to replace the square section rings with L shaped rings.
