X6115 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}11/MG14.1.31 Windscreen Wipers Reverting to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/KT8.10.31, hereunder please find copy of Mr. Oliver Lucas's reply to our complaint - also the two sample wipers in question. Would you kindly arrange to test these out and let us know in due course whether they are satisfactory or otherwise. "I have your letter of January 9th., and have carefully noted the contents. "I think you will find that the various points complained of are dealt with in our current production, and in order that you shall be able to confirm this, I am sending under separate cover two wipers for your examination and test. "The gearing has been considerably strengthened and the motor made more powerful, the spring pressure which holds the blade in contact with the glass has been much increased and a double rubber is now fitted, which improves the effectiveness of the wiping to an extraordinary extent, and my own personal experience with these new modifications is that clear vision is maintained at speeds in excess of 60 m.p.h. "In the meantime we are not supplying you with any of the old model wipers which have given you cause for the present complaint." ROY{Sir Henry Royce} SAMPLES HEREWITH Full and Short Shafts. | ||
