The specification for the third SpectreCodename for Phantom III gearbox with modifications to the casing should be as follows:- Exactly as for the second box as given by Hdy.{William Hardy}3/MN.8.10.34 with the following exceptions. (1) Bearing surface for the 3rd speed wheel formed solid with the shaft, which necessitates the alterations shewn by N. Sch.4222, referred to in Hdy.{William Hardy}2/MN.19.10.34. When the specification for the second box was made it was not realised that this would require alterations to adjacent pieces. (2) Modification to the oil duct feeding the reverse shaft rear bearing shewn by N. Sch.4183 - see Hdy.{William Hardy}1/HP.26.9.34. (3) Drain plug for the front half of the casing placed underneath the box - see Hdy.{William Hardy}1/HP.26.9.34. (4) Increased radius between the journal bearing surface and the shoulder for the 2nd speed pinion - see Hdy.{William Hardy}1/HP.12.10.34. (5) Spring loaded ball for the location of the 1st speed wheel when in neutral. - See N. Sch.4224 and Hdy.{William Hardy}4/HP.13.10.34. (6) Modified selector lock housing - See N.
