We have been asked by one of the leading London Coach-builders whether on cars with the chassis of the "New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I" model, the ventilators usually fitted in the sides of the scuttle will be sufficient without the assistance of the Spinney type of Ventilator in the top of the scuttle which some people consider detracts from the appearance of the finished car. Of course, we have insufficient information in our possession to be able to decide whether the Spinney Ventilator is really necessary or not, but we believe the "V" series chassis, like the 20 H.P.chassis, runs cooler so far as the driver's compartment is concerned, than preceding series. It occurs to us that you doubtless gained very considerable experience on this point when testing out Experimental cars of "V" Series and the C.S.C. would be glad if you will kindly let them have your recommendations so far as the ventilation of the driver's compartment is concerned.
