W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.,
Rolls-Royce Limited,
DERBY.

Dear Mr. Robotham,

Many thanks indeed for your further letter of the 29th ultimo, which I have read with interest.

It is curious what mixed views I have received on the subject of B.'s contributions. Some like him because he is so bold and ready to step in where angels fear to tread and this provokes correspondence and discussion that many others enjoy reading. Still, I am bound to say that I am impressed by what you say and I shall give him another brief run and then try to arrange for our friend, Clease, to devote time to this particular feature.

I had hoped to come to Derby on the 14th instant to read my paper before the I.A.E. on "The Modern Car" in which you helped so materially, but I regret to state they have fixed the night of the banquet in connection with the Scottish Show, and I have been to this function for many years past and nearly all the trade assembles there. Mr. S.C.H.
