PLEASE FILE UNDER SHOCK DAMPER X235 BH [crossed out] c c to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Mr.Robotham. H12/EA22.9.26. Laboratory. Report No.1550. Re Sample of Compressor Oil submitted by Mr.Robotham 17.9.26. The above sample of oil has been examined with the following results :- Specific Gravity at 60ºF ------- 0.894 Closed Flash Point -------- 187ºC Total Acidity --------- 0.1 % Viscosity. Temperature at which Time of efflux Test was made. in seconds. 55ºF ---- 810 80ºF ---- 340 100ºF ---- 183 The oil, at four degrees below freezing point Centigrade, was found to be considerably thicker than at normal temperatures but still poured quite freely. Mr.Robotham has further requested us to make a curve of the viscosity at varying temperatures. This will necessitate the obtaining of ice to perform further tests at lower temperatures but we hope to let you have a copy of the curve before the week-end. Hl. He. | ||
