contd :- -5- but weather conditions were against it. The scheme however gave promise of getting over the trouble. The brake drums were in good condition when examined. A separate report dealt fully with the drain pipes and lubrication. Rear Brake Equalising Mechanism to LOP. G.76924. N.S.2666/7 G.L.284. G.L.290. and Rear Springs to LOP. T.79627 were dealt with in our Lubrication Report. Rear Hydraulic Shock dampers to LOP. D.79225. N.S.2651/238/2745. These operated satisfactorily throughout the test. The knock reported upon got no worse. No loss of oil took place and condition of the dampers were very good when examined. The connecting links ran throughout the test without any adjust-ment being necessary - lubrication of ball ends was ample and very little wear had taken place. Rear Spare Wheel Carrier to LOP. F.79788. N.S.2732/3. This was entirely satisfactory throughout the test. Petrol Tank to LOP. F.79525. N.S.2571/2538/3/2592. K.S. The petrol tank and anchorage at the finish of the test were in good condition. Our report at 5000 miles covers the troubles experienced. The Seste petrol gauge on this has operated satisfactorily throughout the test. No error above 1% in the readings was noticeable. We did not, owing to the car being run continually, have the loss through standing. Hand Brake equalising Mechanism to LOP. G.76951. N.S.2551/2666/7 G.L.290. We had no further trouble with lubrication after attention to Bijur plug - equalising mechanism worked satisfactorily, and general condition was good at finish of test. Brakes were in good condition. Body Subframe to LOP. F.79575. N.S.2695. The subframe shewed no sign of failure through-out the test. Anchorage brackets and bolts remained firm. No further fouling of subframe was noticed other than spring clip previously reported upon. Electrical Equipment of the car. Our report at 5000 miles covers the electrical equipment. We did not observe any further trouble during the remainder of the test. contd :- | ||
