WORKS DAGENHAM DOCK. ESSEX. YOUR REF Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.4/KW. OUR REF CGFP/GL.{G. Linnett} 26th March, 1934. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. West. Replying to yours of the 24th inst, we note that you do not require the three 6-BGD11-SC batteries in Milam containers, but that you will wait until the new ebonite containers are ready. We are getting on to the container makers to see whether they can improve their delivery, and will let you know what they say. You will by now have received a letter from our Sales Dept. telling you that we want to change the name of this new battery for the 40/50 chassis to 6-BHD11-S. This is because we are making slight changes to the pillar design, which will have the effect of considerably improving the performance as far as acid tightness is concerned. As we never like to have the same type name for two designs, even if the plates etc. are the same, we have asked you to agree to the modified name, and we take it that you will have no objection. The sample batteries referred to above, when they are ready, will, of course, be of the new design. Yours faithfully, PETO & RADFORD. (Signature of C G Pritchett) | ||
