86053 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.4/KW. 24th March, 1934. Messrs. Peto & Radford, Dagenham Dock, Essex. For the attention of Mr. C.G.F.Pritchett. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 23rd inst. reference CGFP/GL{G. Linnett}, referring to the three 6-BCD11-SC batteries we are ordering from you. We note your remarks about the rapid temperature rise when using the Lucas Milam Containers. These containers, however, are not required with these batteries, as we want these three batteries, as agreed, to be the first to be equipped with the new moulded ebonite container. It is then proposed to put these batteries on special test as being representative of our future production. Will you therefore kindly arrange for these batteries to be supplied in the new ebonite containers. We are surprised however to note that the new ebonite containers and covers are not expected to be ready before June; whereas we were informed that they would be ready in the middle of May. It is hoped that you will be able to improve on your date, as we must get these three batteries running on chassis and obtain experience before the new batteries are fitted to customers' chassis later on. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
