W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.,

Dear Mr. Robotham,

I was very glad to get your letter and to get out of the conference because I don't think it would really have solved any problems at all.

We have now run into another little problem with regard to the analysis. Apparently H.D.A. have not allowed sufficient magnesium content for even virgin metal to be cast within the specification, which means that a whole batch of castings have all to be scrapped. We have had H.D.A.'s man, Mr. Richards, down here, so we start again. These little things keep continually cropping up. Well, that is part of the technique we have to learn.

H.D.A. should have known better but they did not apparently, or they slipped up, but it is no good grumbling. The bearings we have already made for Leylands and a lot of other people must go back in the pot again, but we shall get over these difficulties one by one, provided we get your co-operation and support.

I am arranging that a monthly report showing what progress has been made should be sent you.

Yours sincerely,
J.W. Howlett
