1020a Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}11/MH.{M. Huckerby} 22nd. September 1938. Messrs. Wellworthy Piston Rings Ltd., Lymington, HANTS. For the attention of Mr.Blackith. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter to Mr.Robotham dated 20th. September. With reference to the first paragraph of your letter concerning the correspondence between Mr.Howlett and Mr.Robotham. This was brought about by a suggestion from H.D.A. that your people were not entirely satisfied with the liason connecting up all concerned with this bearing job. The outcome was, however, as expressed in Mr.Howlett's letter, that you had no complaints; that you were very busy sorting out your own problems, and liked it that way, and finally you would call on our technical staff when required. Incidentally, that completely agrees with the policy we have adopted to date. That brings us to your second paragraph concerning magnesium loss. It was by accident that I learned, during a private visit to H.D.A. that they were carrying out a series of check tests on the re-melting of A.C.9, and it was naturally suggested that if we had any data concerning this problem, it should be sent along. Consequently, we sent them information contained in our letter, reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}2/JH. dated 2nd. August, a copy of which we enclose herewith. | ||
