Origin. To maintain the benefit of the heat treatment of the tubes which the brazing nullifies. Experimental Test Report. This method has been used on Armoured Car Axle Tubes since 1916 - more than 200 sets have been fitted in this way; we have had no complaints. Road Test Report. On experimental car an axle has run 500 miles and is still running. The mileage on Armoured Cars is many times 10,000 miles.
