Description of Parts.
Double thrust bearing for rear axle pinion.
Origin.
Owing to the use of spiral bevel gears which cause a thrust when the car overruns the engine.
Experimental Test Report.
One set built up, pieces are practically identical with present standard except for extra thrust race.
Road Test Report.
No road tests.
A Scrap and replace at all costs, including Chassis already delivered to customers.
B Scrap and replace on Chassis in works.
C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test.
D Use existing stock. Alteration effective on future Chassis.
Cost of Old Part. £9.15.0. Hives.
Cost of New Part. £11.1.3.
Difference per Car. £1.6.3. increase per chassis!
