Loss in Voltage - Head Lamp Wires. With reference to yours BY/Cgh{W Clough}8/G.11.9.31. we cannot say that this is the first we have heard of any suggestion that head lamp wires cause a drop in the voltage. This has been raised on previous occasions, in one case I believe by Mr. Salamanca, and I understand a test was undertaken and reported on by the Experimental Department. The case was also investigated by Mr. Davies and a demonstration was made in the Test Dept. that when using the standard 36 watt headlamps there was a drop of .2 volts. This with 60 watt bulbs would be increased practically 100%. This complaint certainly seems to be one which should be dealt with and a report made out pointing out that there is nothing in it or that there is ground for complaint and some alteration is being made to overcome it.
