(3) The clutch seems less inclined to slip, and appears to stand fairly rough use. The "get away" on second gear, however, is not yet immune from a certain amount of shudder and rattling in the drive. Gear changing is not so free unless the clutch is definitely fully depressed.

(4) Brakes squeak and groan.- We still get an occasional car which gives this trouble. [Handwritten: No permanent one chiefly on light braking]

(5) Inlet silencer fixing.- These are still attached by means of rivets, which appear to have failed on the 10,000 mile test, bolts in preference to rivets being recommended.

(6) Front bumper fixing.- The fixing of these is still the same standard as the 3½ litre. in view of the suspected trouble of these dropping off in service we take it that some improved fixing of these will be done before cars are delivered to customers.

(7) Front axle control.- The same trouble developed in this fitting is continued to be complained of in the 10,000 mile test reports, but this fixing still appears to be the same as those giving trouble in France. [Handwritten: Failures]

(8) Carburetter float feed valve sticking on its seat.- This has caused variation on test, which has meant a definite involuntary stop, and we understand it is now having attention by the Experimental Department. It seems essential that this fault should be overcome before cars get into customers' hands.

(9) Petrol Pumps.- A noise from the petrol pumps still seems to be a disagreeable feature, and the pump is still fixed direct to the dashboard. We understood the rubber mounting improved this complaint.

(10) Oil Leaks from the steering arm serrations. also end of brake actuating rods (on to silencer) if Bijur system freely used.
[Handwritten: Radiator shutters rattle.]
