Dear Sirs, We have now had an opportunity of trying the latest 6 1/2 x 17 tyres for the Bentley. We are very disappointed in the degree of silence obtained on comparing them with some tyres of the same size bought "off the shelf" a few months ago, we can see very little reason why they should be quieter. The radius-ed{J. L. Edwards} edges we suggested in our first letter are not present, nor of course are the slots round the edges filled in and then knife-cut as has been found necessary on the Rolls-Royce Dunlop tyres. We suggest one of your people comes here to discuss the matter as at present the Dunlop tyre, is, to us, more suitable for our present needs. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
