Dear Mr. Robotham,

We have today received a letter from the Sales Department of Rolls,Bentley signed by Mr. Cox asking what is being done regarding the supplying of a silent tyre for the Bentley.

I am wondering whether you have gone far enough with the testing of the 6.00/17 special tyre, which we made for you, to tell us whether the tread design meets your requirements for silence. We believe that we could make it more silent by running the rib to the top of the outer buttons but we also feel that this might reduce the nonskid qualities of the tyre to some extent and would not like to make the change unless you feel that it is essential from the standpoint of silence.

Yours faithfully,
INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY LIMITED.

Works Manager.
