Re. Visit to Cricklewood to obtain information with regard to Quarterly Complaints. BRAKES. Squeaking and Groans. Since the fitting of the pilot shoes, there has been three recurrent complaints of slight squeaks. Collapsing of the tension springs through heat is the principle cause. Generally they are giving every satisfaction. Brakes Seizing. Cars delivered during the last twelve months are giving very little trouble. Brakes Thump. These complaints are not general and 75% are due to inefficient servo. Brakes Inefficient. These are chiefly 25 HP. and Phantom I cars. The cause has been due to oil getting on to the servo fabrics. This trouble has been overcome as far as possible on the present production chassis. Brakes too much travel. This complaint is only with early Phantom II. There is a feeling, however, that our brakes are not large enough and the mileage is too small. This does not come under the heading of complaints, but are owner's comments. The cast-iron ribbed brake drums just standardised, will to a large extent deal with this. OVERHEATING COMPLAINTS. Although we are aware that our latest models are not entirely 100%, Cricklewood have not had any complaints with the latest 25. and Phantom cars. | ||
