E/PSN.1/MN. 5th. October 1936. Mr.Asbridge, Churchill Machine Tool Co.Ltd., Broadhill, Manchester. Dear Sir, We are using one of your Churchill Cam Grinding Machines for grinding the Phantom III camshafts and are desirous of producing an experimental camshaft with longer toes than those on the production camshaft. To do this we propose cutting back the base circle as shown on the enclosed print. On production we are using a set of four master cams, and although the modified camshaft may be used for production we should like to be able to produce the experimental shaft from a single master cam. If this is possible we should be pleased if you would put in hand immediately a master cam to the enclosed drawings, and let us have a quotation. Yours faithfully, For and on behalf of ROLLS-ROYCE LTD., Chief Designer. From A.G.ELLIOTT. Att: | ||
