Dir - from Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} W.J. o. {Mr Oldham} Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} M.W. E.W.P. X8796 Wor {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 9/M3/9/25. Re New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I Chassis Magnetos. I have your very complete report BY15/HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1/S/25 on this subject, and note with pleasure Messrs North & Sons and ourselves are in agreement that a definite improvement is necessary to their magnetos, and also the further point that although Messrs North's magneto has not deteriorated in this respect, it becomes necessary owing to the difference in the silence of our new engine in comparison with the Silver Ghost. I also note that Messrs North are going to make these improvements quickly; this, to my mind, as to yours, should be accelerated with all possible speed, and I further note that Mr.Whitehead is following up the matter and proposes to visit Messrs North next week to ascertain progress. In view of these points, it does seem that we are doing everything possible to further improve our complete product, and unless any of the gentlemen to whom this memo is addressed, consider that there is any point you have missed, I cannot see any need for a discussion or conference. It might, however, be necessary for you to put the whole facts before BJ. and Sales, so that they fully appreciate what is being done to improve the magnetos. | ||
