We should like them to alter the machine to have, if possible, a greater advance (as now required) than is possessed by magneto No.34937 at present in our possession. A general specification of performance of the magneto with automatic advance to suit the EAC.2 requirements has been drafted out, but at the moment we have not sufficient data to finally to fix the numerical requirements of some of the items in the specification. It is intended that this shall be a specification that can be handed to various magneto manufacturers if they wish to submit magnetos, in order to give them a good idea of our requirements in this direction. Would you also kindly obtain from the Scintilla Co. an up-to-date copy of their list F.3. giving full dimensions of the various magnetos, or preferably an up-to-date scale drawing of the outside dimensions.
