Dear Sirs,

4.B.5 - (10.B.5)

In view of the urgent need for bodies for the B.5. chassis which we are building, we confirm that we have asked you to build a fourth body which is to be a replica of 3.B.5. shewn on FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}206 except in the following respects.

(1) Boot and Back of quarter to be like the standard Wraith 4-light saloon which we saw at your Works on Wednesday last.

(2) Front wings with helmet and swaged inner valance.

(3) Crown of rear wing to be raised 1.500" and the valance deepened to correspond, as illustrated to you when we viewed the body of 3.B.5.

A drawing of the above body 1/16 scale and a specification will follow immediately, but in the meantime we wish you to go ahead on these lines.

We agree that experiments may have to be carried out in lightening the structure of this body with a view to weight reduction over and above those carried out on Mr Lappin's late car and repeated on 1.B.5. and 3.B.5. provided that a specification of these lightened pieces be submitted to us in order that we may know what experiments are being tried and tested by us on this car.

Cont'd.....
