FN. - whole time chassis items only.
C. - part time chassis (after Lunch) from Item 5.

CHASSIS. Item 1 on Agenda.
Main points arising out of Test of 19-MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}
Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} went through the specification and it was agreed each feature had been standardised, with the exception of the following; note remarks against each:-

Petrol Tank. (Consideration being given to the capacity by Design and Exp. Dept.)

Exhaust Fittings. (Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} still giving this item attention.)

Bonnet Fasteners. It was agreed Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} should issue a Standardisation Sheet for the cheaper type bonnet fasteners which have been run 15,000 miles on 19-MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} The saving is, approximately, £3 per car. The bonnet fasteners fitted to 19-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} were bought out but Nor. considered that similar parts could be made in our own Works. Suggestions of how our present fasteners might be considerably reduced are being put forward to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints}

Flexible Spring Shackle. Standardised and being introduced on the 189th chassis in "W.E." series - cost of scrap involved £6. Notify Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} separately of this.

Brakes. Standardised with Lake & Elliott material, but no material is to be scrapped without advising Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}

Rear Axle Road Wheels. Sales would like 12/41 ratio for Continental as soon as possible as material commitments permit, together with road wheels, with 19" rims and twin spokes, new carburetter and other general improvements.

Engine Unit.
Cylinder Head - modified to give a compression ratio of 5.25/1. } Standardised for Continental type.
Carburetter. H.R. Semi-expanding. } Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will issue Standardisation Sheet for similar type as fitted to 19-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} and will bring in the new carburetter when tested. Now larger type carb. is instructed and patterns will be completed in about 4 weeks.
