Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} will go into the matter and say when the Smith's instruments - with same type of dials as those recently passed for the 20/25 - can be standardised owing to saving of approximately £10 per car. D.W.S. JACKS. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} promised to communicate with Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} re improved Jacks with more ground clearance. 19-GIVafter overhaul. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} does not wish any time or money expended until the R.R. carburetter is fitted. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} mentioned, however, that it would be necessary to carry out Silencer Tests on it. Points respecting 19-GIV not on Agenda. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/WJ.16.8.32. This note to R.{Sir Henry Royce} was touched upon. It refers to poor petrol consumption on 19-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} and Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} also mentioned his experience in this respect with 19-G.IV. in France (reported upon, together with other matters in Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}12/HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}9.8.32.) Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is carrying out tests and is hoping for improvement. Vibrator Control Dynamo (on 19-G.IV.). Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} mentioned how excellently this had performed, and instructed that a Standardisation sheet should be issued to get something moving in this direction of our own. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} stated that we have a design of our own in hand. S.U. Petrol Pump. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} stated that the one on 19-G.IV. was very unsatisfactory. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has no idea of making use of these in general. Heat in front. (Is referred to in Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}12/HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}9.8.32.) Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} would like all concerned to struggle along with this matter with a view to overcoming it. Very important, because the Aluminium Dashboard on 19-G.IV. became so hot that one was unable to bear one's hand on it. FH. was in agreement. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} however, was of the opinion that the best that can be done at the moment is to get better fitting foot-boards. Pedal slots also need attention. Coachbuilders drawings may not be clear enough. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} promised to look into this question. | ||
