ALL COMMUNICATIONS MUST BE ADDRESSED TO THE COMPANY, AND NOT TO INDIVIDUALS. 1163 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}4/MH.{M. Huckerby} 9th. May 1938. The Cambridge Instrument Co. Ltd., CAMBRIDGE. For the attention of Mr.C.C.Mason. Dear Sirs, With regard to the sideways accelerometer with which you supplied us, we are wondering whether you have any figures for its behaviour at different temperatures. We realise that with the sliding scale we can now correct the zero for a large range of temperatures, but we are not sure whether the accuracy of the accelerometer is affected by temperature variations. Not knowing the pressures in each side of the tube we cannot do this calculation ourselves. The temperature variations now are very large, amounting to over half the scale. We should be glad if you could let us have some information on this point. Our Order Office say that we have not paid for this instrument. If, therefore, you will send in a bill it will be settled. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
