FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr.J.H.Grylls. We thank you for your letter of the 9th May. We have instructed our Sales Office to invoice the sideways accelerometer to you at £7.7.0., the price originally mentioned in our letter of the 17th March, 1937. I think that with the accuracy to which you are working this instrument, you can neglect the actual effects of temperature on the calibration. The actual effects are very complicated as there are so many variables to take into account, but I estimate you can move the scale to adjust the zero about 10 cms: before the calibration error amounts to 1%. If you lower the scale in reference to the instrument the instrument will tend to read too low. Yours faithfully, For:- CAMBRIDGE INSTRUMENT COMPANY, LTD. C. Mason Joint Managing Director. | ||
