ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.

HORNS & FITTINGS.
New set of Electric Horns fitted - standard Production.

The disc on the front of the N.S. horn diaphragm cracked round the threaded collar which attaches it to the diaphragm assembly.

DYNAMO. LOP. DB. {Donald Bastow - Suspensions} II47.
Brushes in Morganite E.G.I2.

Trouble was experienced with the dynamo not charging due to the brushes depositing a sticky black coating on the commutator. This also found its way on to the sides of the brushes causing them to stick in the holders.

These brushes were replaced by standard brushes after 12,000 miles, and no further trouble was experienced during the remaining mileage.

PETROL PUMPS.
Diaphragms with oil silk centres fitted for last 10,000 miles running.

Trouble was experienced due to the pole pieces fouling, which stopped the pumps working when hot. This fault is receiving full attention.

The diaphragms showed no signs of leaks. The fuel used was "Esso" which contains a little alcohol in France.

INSTRUMENT BOARD. LOP. DB. {Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 32.
New counter & drive made by A.C.Sphinx Co.
Flexible capillary thermometer - supplied by Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.

The rev. counter under estimated the engine speed by approximately 8%.

The flexible capillary thermometer was satisfactory during the mileage, but after the engine unit had been changed at Derby on returning, a slight crack was noted where the capillary is soldered into the bulb.

IGNITION COIL.
Delco-Remy Ignition Coil fitted with no ballast resistance.

The Delco Coil failed after 14,000 miles running.
