As we are going to do some design work on the shock dampers to improve their life, and remove the knock trouble,we should appreciate a report giving the exact nature of the troubles you experience. We understand, for instance, that the knocking trouble is distinct from that of wear, though we know of course that knocking is due to wear.

What parts of the shock damper shew signs of undue wear?

A thing that would be of interest to us would be to know whether the ball bearings which are used on the front axle control damper stand up to their work as well, or better, than the plain bearings?

Do the latter bearings now stand up, because you will remember at one time they were not regarded as satisfactory?

If we cure the knock by the use of drilled holes, or by the use of a small free movement, does the shock damper wear indefinitely?

If not, what is the next trouble that happens?
