X8410 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to OJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} S E C R E T. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M17.9.24. E.A.C.II. FRONT SPRINGS. X.8410. We have modified the number of plates etc. in the front springs to correspond with what has been done on EAC.3. and send herewith N.Scheme 1849, giving a table of spring particulars, and also a layout shewing the relation of the spring to the frame. It will be noticed that we have provided for 2½" Bump, though we have retained the original 3½" initial deflection. Our object is to keep the 40/50 rating without increasing the height of frame from the ground. The rubber buffer shewn is similar to that instructed for EAC.3. We wish the new thin top plate to be used unless further experience has revealed disadvantages attached to its use. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
