F.3391. ------------------------------------------ X. 23. ------------------------------------------ This axle is the present standard but the top flange has now been made wider near the spring rests and future axles should be stronger where the present ones fail. This is the third axle broken on the bumping machine and all have broken in the same place. This one cracked on the top flange 3" on the inside of the nearside spring after running 24 hrs 6 mins. and broke after 37 hrs. 1 min. 3" humps were used run at 105 revs per min. (sgd).
