Lidsey}1/HP.14.1.37. 25/30 HP. and Bentley Exhaust System. Referring to E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}4/HP.6.1.37 and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Whym.5/AP. 12.1.37, we have re-checked the figures given in our previous memo with the Cost Department. We find that we now pay considerably less money for the present straps E.60857 than 3.450 shillings, as quoted, due to improved buying technique. As this figure was used as a basis for comparison, the cost of jubilee clips quoted in RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}5/LS.30.12.36 (as 6¾d less per chassis than the present straps) also drops considerably below the 2.91 shillings we quoted originally. Further we understand that the jubilee clips of a size suitable for the job cost less than RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}'s estimate. The nett result is that jubilee clips cost less than the previous straps EB.643 even if the latter are made in mild steel nickel deposited. In consequence of the above we entirely agree with the suggestion to use jubilee clips in place of the present straps E.60857. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
