Dear Sirs,
Aluminium Bearings in AC9 Alloy.
In reply to your letter of the 25th inst., we have pleasure in forwarding you herewith a blueprint showing the crankshaft used on our current 100 x 120 4-cylinder "C" type engine.
Used in this engine we have aluminium pistons which, complete with rings, gudgeon pin, circlips and the little end of the connecting rod, have a weight of 4.386 lbs. The connecting rod is of steel, and has the white metal run direct into the big end, and the total weight of the big end is 3.25 lbs. All our tests on this engine are being carried out at 3,000 r.p.m.
Should you need any further information we should be only too pleased to let you have it upon learning your requirements.
Yours faithfully,
DENNIS BROTHERS LIMITED.
